On March 31, 2017, Ambassador Charles Fries, Ambassador of the French Republic to Ankara, addressed GRF members under the Roundtable Series with Ambassadors in Turkey . Ambassador Fries started his presentation by evaluating the historical development of the bilateral relations. He then noted that Turkey and France cooperate on various issues such as the fight against terrorism, the Syrian crisis, and immigration. Finally, the Ambassador elaborated on the future of the EU-Turkey relationship, highlighting that reforming the Customs Union may constitute an important step in strengthening the relations. Following his speech, Ambassador Fries answered the participants’ questions.
