Dan Smith, Director of the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), addressed members of the GRF and GRF Community at an online meeting titled "Defense Industry, Global Defense Expenditures, International Arms Trade, Security and Geopolitics," held on May 28, 2025.

Organized as part of GRF’s Security Roundtable Series, the meeting explored key developments such as the sustained rise in global defense spending, evolving armament trends, the weakening of bilateral arms control mechanisms, and the increasing fragility of international peace structures in the post-Trump era. Following his remarks, Smith answered the participants’ questions.
