On December 8, 2022, Dr. Chris Miller, Assistant Professor at Tufts University Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy and graduate of GRF’s 2016 Young Academics Program, addressed GRF and GRF Community members at an online meeting. Speaking on his new book entitled "Chip War: The Fight for the World’s Most Critical Technology", Dr. Miller assessed the military and economic dimensions of the geopolitical struggle over microchip technology, which he deems the most consequential technology of today. Dr. Miller pointed out that the design of and demand for chip technology has opened up new frontiers in the US-China rivalry, and stated that with the growing spread of digitalization, microchips have turned into military, economic and geopolitical assets for different countries. Following his speech, Dr. Miller answered the participants’ questions.
