On November 13, 2018, Dr. Josef Ackermann, CEO of Deutsche Bank (F) addressed GRF and GRF Community members at a dinner held in his honor. In his speech entitled “The Global Economy Under Pressure: Rising Indebtedness and Surging Nationalism”, Dr. Ackermann examined the resilience of to global banking system to handle new threats to the financial industry compared to the aftermath of the 2008 crisis. Dr. Ackermann compared the current strategies of US, Chinese and European financial authorities, and emphasized the evolving relationship between governments and the banking sector. Following his speech, Dr. Ackermann answered the participants’ questions.
