Prof. Dr. Özgehan Şenyuva, Chair of the Department of International Relations at METU and Board Member of the Global Relations Forum (GRF), has been honored with the Bene Merito Distinction, conferred by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland in recognition of merits in promoting Poland abroad. He received the distinction particularly for his contributions to youth research and to institutional cooperation aimed at strengthening Turkey–Poland relations. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Prof. Şenyuva on this prestigious honor and wish him continued success.

Our valued member, Prof. Dr. Ufuk Akçiğit, Professor of Economics and holder of the Arnold C. Harberger Chair at the University of Chicago, has been awarded the Rahmi M. Koç Science Medal, presented for the 10th time this year.

Aksoy, who is also the first Turkish national appointed to this prestigious position, will be advising on the future of work—including the impact and future of remote and hybrid work in the UK—and bringing research on labour markets and economic inclusion into high-level policy discussions. He will continue his roles at the EBRD and King’s College London alongside this new appointment.
