Prof. Luigi Narbone (Director of the Mediterranean Platform at the School of Government, Luiss Guido Carli University), Ambassador (R) Mithat Rende (Former Permanent Representative of Turkey to the OECD and Former Chair of the OECD Executive Committee), Prof. Serhat Güvenç (Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences and Professor of International Relations at Kadir Has University), and Dr. Deniz Tekin Apaydın (Faculty Member at Boğaziçi University Faculty of Law) addressed GRF and GRF Community members during the panel titled “Security in the Eastern Mediterranean at the Threshold of Global Changes,” held on May 12 as part of the Security Series.
Moderated by Ambassador (R) Selim Yenel, President of GRF, the panel explored recent developments in the Eastern Mediterranean in the context of energy exploration, maritime jurisdiction, and regional security architectures. The speakers offered interdisciplinary perspectives on the evolving geopolitical dynamics of the region, focusing on energy security, international maritime law, and defense cooperation.
