European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) Judge and Section President Prof. Ayşe Işıl Karakaş convened with GRF Members and a group of GRF Community members on June 12th, at a meeting held under the “Rule of Law, Institutions and Global Development” Roundtable Meetings Series. During her speech, Prof. Karakaş elaborated on the components of the rule of law, with references to court cases brought to the ECHR in relation to each respective component. She then shared her assessments on the state of the rule of law in ECHR countries, and made recommendations for its improvement. Following her presentation, Prof. Karakaş received a variety of questions from the participants.
