The panel titled “The Final Quarter of 2026 and Looking Ahead: Insights on Society, Foreign Policy, and the Economy” was held on September 23 at Divan Istanbul Taksim, with the participation of journalist and political commentator Bekir Ağırdır, academic and author Soli Özel, and economist Dr. Murat Üçer. Moderated by GRF President Ambassador (R) Timur Söylemez, the panel examined Türkiye’s political, economic, and social outlook as the country entered the final quarter of 2026.
The discussion addressed the potential implications of shifting global dynamics for Türkiye’s foreign policy choices, the current trajectory and short- to medium-term outlook of the Turkish economy, and changes in the country’s social dynamics. Bringing together perspectives from different fields of expertise, the panel also explored the interaction between domestic and international developments and exchanged views on the principal challenges and opportunities Türkiye may face in the period ahead.
