Representative Frank Guinta, a first term Republican Congressman from New Hampshire, who sits on 3 committees (Transportation and Infrastructure, Oversight and Government Reform, Budget) and is a member of the Turkish caucus was GRF’s guest of honor at a working lunch on February 11 at Divan Istanbul Hotel. Two other members of the Turkish caucus, Rep. Cynthia Lummis (Republican-at large) and Rep. Donald Payne (Democrat-New Jersey) were represented by their senior staff.* Turkish Coalition in America President, Mr. Lincoln McCurdy and Vice President, Ms. Başak Kızıldemir, were also present.  After Dr. Füsun Türkmen, Co-Chair of GRF Task Force on Turkey-USA Relations, gave an overview of the recently published Task Force Report, GRF members and guests had an informative and engaging discussion on the state of the two countries’ bilateral relations; upcoming US primaries and elections; and recent developments in the Middle East, especially the current debate on potential military intervention in Iran and Syria.
