Clare Brosnan, Ambassador of Ireland to Turkey, addressed GRF members at a meeting titled “Captaining the EU Through Troubled Waters: Challenges for the Irish Presidency and Prospects for Türkiye-EU Relations,” held on 22 June 2026, as part of GRF’S Ambassador’s Series.

Moderated by GRF President Ambassador (R) Timur Söylemez, the meeting focused on Ambassador Brosnan’s assessments of Ireland’s priorities for its forthcoming Presidency of the Council of the European Union, which it assumed on 1 July; the Turkey report adopted by the European Parliament; opportunities in Türkiye-EU relations; Ireland’s foreign policy outlook in light of global developments; and bilateral relations between Turkey and Ireland.
