İlter Türkmen Diplomacy Seminars 2025 Program
13-16 October, 2025
Since 2022, the GRF İlter Türkmen Diplomacy Seminars have brought together senior undergraduate and graduate students studying at universities in Turkey and across Europe with expert academics and practitioners, providing a platform to discuss and question global issues in diplomacy.
This year’s program was held at TÜSİAD’s Ankara Representative Office between 13–16 October 2025.
In its third edition, the four-day program featured seminar sessions led by academics and retired ambassadors, as well as career talks where representatives from international organizations, civil society, and public affairs shared their professional experiences with the students.
As in previous years, a simulation exercise aimed at enhancing participants’ abilities to think collaboratively, debate, and develop solutions was conducted. Designed as a United Nations Security Council (UNSC) session, the exercise allowed students interested in pursuing careers in international relations and diplomacy to experience decision-making processes in a realistic setting.
Participants representing country delegations worked on the Ukraine case, engaged in a diplomatic negotiation process, and, at the end of a full day of negotiations, reached consensus on a peace agreement, finalizing a a sample UNSC resolution.
