Fourth Meeting
April 8, 2023

The fourth meeting of the 2022-2023 term of the GRF Young Professionals Program, which aims to provide a platform for young professionals who are equipped with the resolve, background, and experience to contribute to the future of Turkey and the world, was held on April 8, 2023 at GRF office.

The meeting started with a speech by Mr. Osman Okyay, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors and Head of the Technical Department of Kale Group, on the recent technological developments in the defense and aerospace industry as well as Turkey’s current position in these sectors. Following his speech, Mr. Okyay answered the participants’ questions. The meeting, held on the theme "Technology and Geopolitics", continued with a presentation and discussion session focusing on microchip technologies which have become one of the main elements of international geopolitical competition, especially with their increasing use in the defense industry. The meeting concluded with a speech by Ambassador (R) Selim Yenel, President of GRF, in which he assessed how Turkey’s foreign policy and its relations with the European Union could take shape in the aftermath of the May 14 elections.
