Ata Mert Aladağ completed his undergraduate studies in International Relations at Bilkent University in 2017. During this period, he spent a semester as an exchange student at University College Maastricht (UCM) and worked as a research intern at The Diplomatic Observer magazine. Aladağ received his MSc in Politics of Conflict, Rights & Justice from SOAS, University of London, where his dissertation examined the influence of human rights laws & norms on state behavior. He joined the Global Relations Forum (GRF) as an Associate in 2019.
Aladağ currently serves as a Program Director at the Global Relations Forum (GRF). His work broadly focuses on the intersection of policy, science, technology, and global affairs, and he contributes to the development of publications, reports, and podcast series—particularly in areas such as energy and green transformation— and coordinates high-level roundtable meetings. Within this scope, he directs the Young Professionals Program, leads the GRF Task Force on “The Geopolitics of Green Transformation and Turkey,” and coordinates both the Technology and Socioeconomic Transformation Roundtable Series and the Distinguished International Scientists Roundtable Series. He additionally coordinates the GRF Membership Evaluation Commission and serves as the editor of GRF’s members-only monthly newsletter. Aladağ is proficient in Turkish and English.
